About the Role
The Information Centre Officer delivers visitor servicing activities throughout the Mornington Peninsula Shire to encourage an increase in visitor stays, spend and dispersal that drives business to Mornington Peninsula tourism businesses, contributing to the local visitor economy.
Working with Visitor Servicing Officers, this role also provides administrative assistance to the wider Tourism Services team as required, often working alongside, and supporting visitor information centre volunteers.
The Mornington Peninsula Visitor Information Centre is open 7 days a week (10am to 4pm), closed Christmas Day, Good Friday and ANZAC Day.
Reporting to the Team Leader Tourism Services, the core responsibilities include:
- Deliver visitor servicing activities to encourage increase to visitor stays, spend and dispersal that drives business to Mornington Peninsula tourism operators.
- Provide a welcoming experience and exceptional customer service to visitors, residents and businesses who use the visitor information centre.
- Assist with the day-to-day operations of the visitor information centre including processing bookings and ticket enquiries and bookings as well as souvenir sales.
- Assist with the supervision, and training of tourism volunteers.
About You
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of Mornington Peninsula tourism product and experiences.
- Sound experience with Microsoft Office suite, internet, and other programs.
- As required, ability to work any day across a 7-day week.

About Mornington Peninsula Shire
