Get Going Support are currently seeking committed Disability Support Workers within the Ipswich area who are exceptional communicators, willing to go the extra mile, have a great understanding of complex supports and have a desire to make a real change the life of our participants.

We are looking for Fun, Reliable & Experienced support workers who love going on adventures and are passionate in providing dignified support care!

This role provides rostered shifts that ensure stability and the opportunity to provide genuine impact with our clients. We are currently looking for Support Workers to assist with daily living and community access with participants across the Ipswich Region.

Role Description

Assist people to live as independently as possible in their own home and in the community, remove barriers and engage in a full life;

Personal care including helping people shower, getting dressed and performing daily activities, laundry etc.

Assisting with light housework;

Providing social support to people with disabilities and people experiencing mental health;

Assist people with physical and psycho-social disabilities to remain independent in their own homes;

Supporting clients to appointments in the community.

Providing therapy assistance to support the implementation of physical, speech, OT and psychological plans and strategies (as directed by their allied health teams)

Supporting people to develop and build self-confidence;

Reviewing and updating care support plans.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential

Current QLD Driver’s License

Current First Aid and CPR Certificate

Current NDIS Workers Screening Check

Compulsory Comprehensive Insurance on Private vehicle

Experience supporting clients with Mental Health conditions (e.g., anxiety, depression, schizophrenia)

Experience implementing Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP)

Minimum of 2yrs Experience within the community services sector

Desirable

Certificate III in Individual Support Disability/Aged Care or related studies (or willing to undertake)

Knowledge and understanding of the NDIS system.

Sound experience in the disability or allied health/welfare/education fields.

A minimum of one year's driving experience and a full driving license.
