Our ideal candidate will bring a combination of cultural knowledge, leadership experience, and strategic capability.

We’re looking for someone who embodies respect, integrity, and a commitment to reconciliation.

You will ideally demonstrate most or all of the following:

  1. Demonstrated cultural capability, including the ability to provide mentorship and support to First Nations staff, and to foster cultural learning and safety across the organisation.
  2. Proven experience in building and maintaining respectful, strategic partnerships with First Nations people, organisations, and internal stakeholders.
  3. Strong leadership and project management skills, with experience designing, implementing, and evaluating initiatives aligned with strategic frameworks such as a Reconciliation Action Plan and Closing the Gap priorities.
  4. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to facilitate culturally safe conversations and engage diverse audiences with clarity, empathy, and influence.
  5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively, exercising sound professional judgement and decision-making in complex or sensitive cultural contexts.
