The Role

As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role within the Finance Operations team, supporting the day-to-day accounting requirements of the group.

Reporting to the Senior Finance Manager, this role is integral to delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial information to management, business partners, regulators, and other stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing month-end accounting processes, journals, and general ledger entries
• Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations and supporting schedules
• Delivering cashbooks, bank reconciliations, and cash flow analysis/forecasts
• Supporting reinsurance reporting including bordereaux, reconciliations, and analysis
• Preparing and assisting with regulatory returns (e.g. Stamp Duty, BAS, APRA returns)
• Calculating and settling partner commissions and profit share arrangements
• Monitoring transactions and premium debtors, and providing variance analysis
• Liaising with business partners, auditors, and cross-functional teams (IT, actuarial, commercial)
• Enhancing accounting processes and controls to improve efficiency and compliance

The Candidate

• CA/CPA qualified (or near completion with strong progress)
• 5+ years’ accounting experience, ideally within insurance or financial services
• Strong technical knowledge across financial accounting, reconciliations, and reporting
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, with the ability to analyse large data sets
• Confident communicator, able to liaise effectively with business partners and stakeholders
• Detail-oriented, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities in a dynamic environment

• Salary up to $110k – 120k incl. super
