The role of Customer Service Officer at the Brighton Recreational Centre, requires individuals who are passionate about engaging with the public, and providing excellent service whether it be in person, on the phone or online.

The role involves being the first point of contact for enquiries both online and in person, providing accurate information about programs, and maintaining a tidy service area. Additional duties include managing point-of-sale transactions, assisting with bookings for programs and events, and performing various administrative tasks like database management and processing customer requests. Team collaboration, compliance with policies, professional presentation, and punctuality are also essential aspects of the position.

The role is for 12 to 16 hours per week, worked over 2 to 3 shifts. There is some flexibility regarding the days and hours, as well as over school holidays if required.

NOTE: We also have a single shift available on Wednesday evenings (with also the potential to cover other shifts) for a Centre Supervisor. The rate of pay for this role is $36.59 - $38.05 and entails the performing of all duties as required for a Customer Service Officer, but with a broader responsibility for the smooth operation of all elements of the centre. CUSTOMER SERVICE OFFICER

Essential Requirements

Hold and maintain a Working with Children

Hold right to work in Australia

First aid certificate (or willingness to attain upon commencement)

A satisfactory outcome from a police check

Highly Desirable Requirements

Experience in a customer service / administrative role, ideally in a leisure/recreation setting

Experience with a Customer Relationship Management/point of sale software system. iClassPro & MindBody preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Service Specific

Provide excellent customer service to customers, both in person, over the telephone and via email

Follow established processes and procedures for enrolments, class bookings, point of sale transactions, cash handling, end-to-end venue hire bookings, and administration processes associated with the Centres operations

Be an initial point of contact for customer enquiry, feedback and complaints and resolve issues or communicate on to appropriate staff member

Provide accurate and up to date information relating to programs and services that operate within the facility

Maintain customer service and public areas to a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness

Accept customer bookings and enrolments for programs and services at the centre

Responsible for POS, cash management, reconciling and client management system (IClass & MindBody)

Perform clerical tasks related to maintaining the operation of reception

Successfully complete end of till cash offs and reports

Assist with holiday program and birthday parties enquiries and bookings

Sales of contracts, services and merchandise

Administrative Duties

To make phone calls to current and non current users when required

To make phone/email contact with prospective customers

Assist with database management

Process customer requests for suspensions, trials and cancellations

Generating reports

Other administrative tasks as required

General

Comply with the Brighton Recreational policies and procedures for child safety, codes of conduct, safety, training, document control, corrective and preventative action and customer complaints

Maintain high standards of presentation and personal grooming

Works as part of a team

Conduct oneself professionally

Punctual in both attendance on shift and attendance at staff meetings

Performs other duties as required
