Position Vacant – Weekend Care Worker

CareWays Community has been providing services to the community for more than 35 years through in-home care and support for the elderly; Neighbourhood Centres and Youth Services.

We are currently seeking passionate, proactive, friendly and those with a caring nature to join our team as a Care Worker, providing assistance to our aged care clients in their own homes. This position is based in the Illawarra.

About the role

This position reports to the Care Worker Supervisor and provides a range of services to our elderly clients to support them to remain in their home. These services can include domestic assistance, personal care, social support, shopping, respite and transport to appointments. This is a permanent part-time position.

The ideal candidates MUST be available Saturday and Sunday with availability from 7am – 7pm, each week or bi-weekly; plus the ability to complete one or two days during the week.

The Successful Candidate

To be considered you must have:

Certificate III in Individual Support, aged care or disability and 500hours experience in home care and/or residential.

Completion of Bachelor of Nursing degree (first year) is also suitable.

Current first aid certificate

Saturday and Sunday availability from 7am to 7pm

Driver’s licence and reliable car with full comprehensive insurance

Smart phone and basic understanding of how to use apps

Basic knowledge in using computers and emails

COVID Proof of Vaccination (including first booster)

Clear Criminal history check.

Remuneration

Position is subject to award conditions under the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 as Home Care Employee Grade 2/3 ($32.74 -$33.82 per hour plus weekend penalties on Saturday & Sunday).

Phone, uniform and laundering allowance provided as well as travel time between clients and kilometres ($0.99 per km).
