About the role

Behaviour Collaboration is seeking a passionate and skilled Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team in Capalaba, QLD. As a Behaviour Support Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in providing positive behaviour support to clients with complex needs, with the aim of enhancing their quality of life and promoting independence. This is a full-time position, offering the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the individuals and families we serve. Office location is in Capalaba.

What you'll be doing

Conducting comprehensive assessments to identify the function and drivers of challenging behaviours

Developing and implementing individualised behaviour support plans in collaboration with clients, families, and the broader support team

Providing training and coaching to clients, families, and support staff to promote the effective implementation of behaviour support strategies

Regularly reviewing and updating behaviour support plans to ensure they remain effective and responsive to the client's needs

Engaging in ongoing professional development to stay up-to-date with best practices in positive behaviour support

Maintaining detailed records and contributing to reporting requirements

What we're looking for

Tertiary qualifications in psychology, social work, or a related field

Demonstrated experience in the provision of positive behaviour support to individuals with complex needs

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with clients, families, and multidisciplinary teams

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement tailored behaviour support strategies

Commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in the field

Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach

Strong writing skills

A valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle
