38 hours per week

Our client is currently looking for a chef for their home in Sylvania. The Chef will report to the Facility Manager and will perform the following:

Lead the catering team including providing training

Preparation of menu with the consumers

Preparing meals

Oversee the dining experience

Ensure all foods are handled according to the food safety plan and compliant with the Aged Care Nutrition and Hydration requirements.

All compliance aspects of food preparation, presentation, serving of meals, mid meals, which are palatable and nutritious, using the recipes and menus.

Prepare and present food within the set time frame to ensure freshness quality and to maintain food safety.

Ensure full compliance with NSW Food regulations and the respective Aged Care Standards

Liaising with other members of the health care team to identify resident care needs, plan interventions and review outcomes of care in relation to diets and texture modified meals.

Manage the budget and ordering in line with the menu.

Successful applicants must have:

At least 4 years experience as a chef

A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the ageing process, particularly to age-related health issues.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Diploma in Hospitality or Certificate IV in Commercial Cooking or equivalent

Current NDIS Worker Screening Check required.

Ability to prioritise and manage workloads according to resident needs.

Demonstrated interpersonal and written communication skills including demonstrated experience interacting with a wide range of people.

Demonstrated knowledge of workplace health and safety.

Commitment to continuous improvement.

Intermediate computer skills.

Preferably with previous experience in residential aged care services
