What you will do
This position requires a leader with experience in operational, commercial, and project management. The key duties and responsibilities of this role include:
Facility management
Develop and implement operational plans and services in a ‘start-up’ environment covering facilities, finance, and people across the core functions of skills and training, education, and business development.
Manage all operational requirements for the for the day-to-day running of the facility, including managing the budget and other financial targets.
Develop associated policies, procedures, and working practices specific for the site including risk management, critical incidents, and WHS related matters ensuring that the design is scalable to accommodate future growth and is replicable across other facilities.
Working with the Director Program Delivery and Commercial (DPDC), lead governance, risk management, stakeholder engagement and business development efforts; and investigate and develop commercial opportunities to meet current and future needs.
Stakeholder engagement
Identify, build, and facilitate strong and effective relationships and collaboration opportunities with key stakeholders including Queensland state and local government, federal government agencies, manufacturing businesses in the Wide Bay region, local industry and business associations, unions, schools, universities, VET providers, and other training delivery organisations.
As directed by the DPDC, represent MSQ on relevant committees; and present and/or participate in key government and business forums.
Leadership
Successfully lead the Centre of Excellence (CoE) team to deliver on business plans, strategies, and budgets.
Provide advice to the DPDC regarding the growth and ongoing management of the Maryborough facility.
Provide effective and motivational leadership to the CoE team, fostering a professional environment which encourages commitment to customer service, collaboration, ethical behaviour, skills development, and continuous improvement.
Who we are looking for
Program delivery experience
Experience in business planning and managing commercial operations, preferably with a training and/or industry development focus. Experience managing training/education facilities will be highly regarded.
Highly organised, proactive, problem solver with the ability to work autonomously and manage multiple and competing projects and priorities.
Proven experience in program delivery commercial management roles, and experience working across Government and the manufacturing industry, VET, and/or education sector is highly desirable.
Qualifications in relevant fields; and a full clean driver’s license with the ability to travel is a requirement of this role.
Interpersonal and communication skills
Exemplary interpersonal and verbal communication skills with a strong and proven ability to build and maintain professional relationships with staff and stakeholders at all levels.
Strong ability to influence and negotiate outcomes effectively; and proactively lead, support, and manage a high-performing team.
Demonstrated track-record of building productive and purposeful partnerships with a positive attitude, and flexibility to adapt to the evolving needs of the business.
