The Company

Our client is a Heavy Equipment Maintenance and Mine Services company that has been operating for over 5 years in the Western Australian mining sector. Due to substantial growth, our client is seeking multiple experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter’s to join their highly experienced site team to work on a 2 & 1 roster, FIFO ex Perth.

The Role

Working in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia, the Heavy Diesel Mechanic/Fitter will be responsible for the maintenance of CAT, KOMATSU, HITACHI, and VOLVO equipment including but not limited to excavators, drills, trucks and graders. The successful applicant will be offered remuneration based on experience. Field Service Ute provided. Interstate applicants will be considered for this role.

The Candidate

We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated and reliable Heavy Diesel Mechanic with at least 5 years of experience on Heavy Machinery, with a minimum of 1 year in a FIFO/remote role.

Trade Qualifications of the following nature considered – LV Mechanics are not able to be considered for this role.

Heavy Vehicle Mechanic

Heavy Diesel Fitter / Mechanic

Heavy Duty Fitter

Mechanical Fitter (Must Possess Truck & Diesel Experience)

Essential Criteria

Possess a Valid Australian C Class Drivers Licence

Police Clearance must be provided for this role

Recent experience working on CAT, KOMATSU, HITACHI, and VOLVO equipment

Is able to commit to 6+ Months working a 2 & 1 Roster where your shifts are 1 week of days & 1 week of nights

Is physically fit and able to carry out physical tasks regularly

Ability to pass ongoing Drug & Alcohol Screens

Ability to pass Pre-Employment Medical

Additional Criteria

At least 1 year’s experience working on mine sites on a FIFO basis

Has a strong work history where you have a proven track record of staying at jobs long term

Must take pride in maintaining a high standard of housekeeping within workshop, vehicles and equipment

Have a strong work ethic with a positive attitude where you are considered very reliable and considered by others as a hard worker

Safety conscious with the ability to work unsupervised

Must be able to complete Company & Client Inductions

Working Days & Hours

2:1 Roster

One week of dayshift, one week of nightshift

0500 – 1700 working hours (11.5 hours paid, 30-minute unpaid lunchbreak)

Remuneration

This role is a permanent position, employed on a casual basis where a successful candidate has the potential to be signed onto our client’s books as a full time / permanent employee.

Depending on experience the pay rates will be between:

Casual Pay Rate: $70.00 to $85.00 Per Hour (Flat)

Super on all working hours
