The Personnel Group is a purpose-driven, not-for-profit organisation that has been supporting individuals and communities across Australia since 1986. Originally focused on helping people with disabilities transition into open employment, the organisation has expanded its services to include Employment, Health, Training, and Community support through a wraparound model. Operating under sub-brands like MP Recruitment and Aspire Support Services, it serves metro, regional, and rural areas. Despite its growth, The Personnel Group remains committed to its founding values of relationship-building, equity, and inclusion, aiming to create a fairer and more equal world through innovation and integrated services.
Are you an experienced IT security professional who’s ready to make a meaningful impact? At The Personnel Group, you’ll play a key role in protecting the digital infrastructure that supports our Employment, Health, Training, and Community services.

Key responsibilities:
- Security governance & policy – Develop and maintain security policies that reflect best practice and suit our multi-division organisation.

- Risk management & compliance – Conduct risk assessments, support audits, and ensure compliance with standards like ISO 27001 and ACSC Essential Eight.
- Access & endpoint security – Manage identity controls, endpoint protection, and tools like MFA, DLP, and encryption.
- Collaboration & integration – Work with teams across the business to embed security into projects, procurement, and daily operations.
- Training & awareness – Deliver engaging training and build a culture of shared responsibility for cybersecurity.
- Business continuity – Support disaster recovery planning to ensure systems and data can be restored securely and efficiently.
Qualifications and experience:
- A bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field — or equivalent practical experience.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Security+ or AZ-500 are highly regarded.
- 3–5 years of experience in IT security, systems administration, or network security.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Security & Compliance Center, Azure security tools, and Intune.
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively across teams.
