The Opportunity
The Spray Painter reports to the Workshop Manager and is responsible for the body pre-repair and re-painting of our plant & equipment and vehicles.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare plant & equipment and vehicle components for paint repairs, including cleaning them in the wash bay

Carry out pre-repair operations to plant & equipment and vehicle bodies, including panel beating as required

Remove and replace/fit protector mouldings, transfers and decals

Apply paint removal methods

Carry out masking procedures on glass and other appropriate areas prior to application of paint with spray gun

Prepare spray painting booth, materials and equipment (e.g. cleaning or adjusting spray gun; paint drying equipment)

Required Skills And Competencies

Certificate III in Automotive Vehicle Body: Vehicle Painting or equivalent trade and/or experience

Strong knowledge of the standard methods and practices of automotive painting and of the materials and methods used in prepping, painting and/or refinishing
