An exciting opportunity to work fly in and fly out within West Australian for a few nights approximately every second week?
We are seeking people who are patient, supportive, self-aware, open minded and non-judgemental. People who are respectful, honest, ethical and maintain confidentiality. Those that foster collaboration, show respect and recognise and respect cultural differences. People who take responsibility and are committed to ongoing learning and self-improvement.
Psychologists working in the Department’s regional Therapeutic Residential Care Homes, contribute to providing healing relationships within a culturally sensitive, homelike environment for young people with histories of abuse and neglect.
Working regionally, you get the added advantage of
- paid breakfast, lunch and dinner
- a payment of $45 per night to stay overnight away from your usual residence
- staying in a hotel for your own comfort
- the opportunity to immerse yourself in a town like a local
- escaping the winter months in Perth and enjoying the warmer weather in the north
After work in a regional location, you get to
- explore the varied landscape and nature on offer
- attend regional events and entertainment offerings
- access community amenities for your wellbeing which are in close proximity.
How will you make a difference?
Psychologists work across two or more homes as a consultant and team member, supporting the managers and carers to attune and respond therapeutically to the young people.
You will assess, formulate and establish intervention goals for the young people in collaboration with key stakeholders with the overarching goal of healing trauma and shifting attachment patterns. You need to be prepared to operate in dynamic and potentially challenging group environments.
