The Role

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Leading Hand Boilermaker/Welder to work with one of our highly respected clients, who is based at the Bushmead site, to start immediately. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified Boilermaker who is ready to take the next step in their career and lead a skilled team in a dynamic workshop environment. This will also be an excellent opportunity to be part of a dynamic and growing company and be responsible for welding high-quality products used across multiple industries.

In this hands-on role, you’ll lead a skilled team in a fast-paced workshop environment, ensuring the delivery of high-quality welding and fabrication work across various industries. You will also help drive safety, productivity, quality, and training outcomes on-site.

About the Role:

Immediate work available – ASAP start

Day shifts - 10 hours per day

Weekdays + Occasional weekend work

Site-based role at Bushmead

Key responsibilities :

Lead daily team operations, start-ups, and job allocations

Maintain a safe, clean, and productive work environment

Ensure adherence to safety protocols and quality standards

Provide hands-on guidance and support to Boilermakers, Welders, Trades Assistants, and Apprentices

Assist with troubleshooting, on-the-job training, and resolving equipment or material issues

Interpret technical drawings and fabrication specifications

Drive continuous improvement in productivity and efficiency

Skills and Experience Required

Proven experience in a Leading Hand or supervisory role on-site

Trade-qualified Boilermaker with a minimum of 3 years in steel fabrication

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage workload, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines

Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality

Demonstrated ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings

Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (Boilermaking/Welding) or equivalent

Current Australian driver’s licence
