About the role

The Network Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring the reliable, secure, and high-performing operation of Southern Cross Care's ICT network infrastructure. The role is responsible for the proactive management, maintenance, and support of the wired and wireless network infrastructure that delivers essential services to our staff, and ultimately supports the exceptional care provided to our residents and clients.

The Network Engineer is accountable for maximising network availability and performance. This requires a proactive and analytical approach to network management, leveraging monitoring systems, advanced diagnostic tools, and trend analysis to identify potential issues, implement preventative measures, and drive continuous improvement.

As a key member of the Operations team, the Network Engineer provides expert-level ownership and resolution of network-related incidents and queries.

This Network Engineer will actively collaborate with internal stakeholders across all business units to understand their evolving needs, translate them into effective network solutions, and ensure the seamless delivery of ICT services.

About you

We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.

The successful candidate will have the following;

• Relevant Tertiary Degree (Information Technology, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.)
• Current Fortinet Certified Professional (FCP) certification or possess an equivalent industry-recognised certification with a commitment to maintaining currency.
• Current Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification.
• 3-5 years of demonstrable experience providing comprehensive ICT support within complex, large-scale, multi-site environments.
• Proficient in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Fortinet solutions (Firewalls, Switches, WiFi, FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, etc.) and Cisco Switches.
• Demonstrated experience in securing network infrastructure with a proactive 'cyber security mindset' integrated into all ICT system interactions and configurations.
• Extensive experience in diagnosing and resolving complex network and ICT system issues, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team of ICT professionals, contributing to a collaborative and supportive environment.
