About the Role
We are seeking an experienced community recreation professional with strong customer focus and expertise in the planning and development of community-based infrastructure in a local government environment. As a collaborative member of the Community Facilities Planning team, the position contributes to overall success of the service or sub-unit, focussing on working with stakeholders to deliver positive outcomes. As part of the role you will be responsible for:
- Responding to a wide range of stakeholders queries, needs and requests while providing an excellent customer experience;
- Developing and implementing project documentation and master plans for community infrastructure;
- Developing and writing Council Reports, Briefing Notes and other important documentation;
- Working with our Assets directorate during the construction phase of projects to ensure projects are delivered on time and on budget, maximising the benefits for the community;
- Planning and implementing community engagement activities relating to developing community infrastructure;
- Adherence to City and service unit systems and processes; and
- Delivering projects in a timely and efficient manner in line with the City’s Project Management Framework.
About You
You will work effectively within a small team with an excellent culture, adapting to changing circumstances and embracing innovation. You will hold excellent customer service skills, and ideally a strong background in recreation and leisure in a local government environment. The successful candidate will thrive in a team-based environment, collaborating with the service unit and the other service units to achieve the best outcomes for the community.
Skills and Experience:
- Qualification in relevant discipline such as sport, recreation, leisure or urban planning or equivalent experience;
- Relevant experience in a similar role, including stakeholder engagement;
- Previous experience writing council reports and other relevant documentation;
- C class Drivers Licence;
- Intermediate computing, numeracy and literacy skills;
- Intermediate organisational and time management skills;
- Intermediate communication and problem-solving skills;
- Intermediate research and analysis skills; and
- Intermediate negotiation and influencing skills.
