The role

VAHPA is seeking a dedicated and skilled professional for the role of Senior Industrial Officer (Member Response). This role is vital in providing high-level support and advocacy for our members, leading the Member Response Team, and upholding the principles of solidarity within allied health.

What you'll do

Lead and mentor the Member Response Team, provide strategic guidance, industrial expertise, and high-level advocacy for members on complex workplace issues.

Represent VAHPA members in workplace disputes, grievance procedures, and before relevant tribunals.

Support VAHPA’s mission by positively contributing to the leadership team, preparing reports, and where required developing accessible industrial information for members.

What you'll bring

A strong commitment to the objectives of VAHPA, to fairness and social justice, with the ability to foster member engagement and solidarity.

Extensive knowledge of industrial relations, including interpreting awards, enterprise agreements, and legislation, as well as being aware of relevant case law.

Proven experience in representing members in industrial and legal forums, with a collaborative approach to team leadership.
