NECA Training is a not-for-profit, nationally recognised Registered Training Organisation specialising in Electrical and Telecommunications. All revenue earned by NECA Training is reinvested into building better training.

NECA Training provides the industry with a variety of courses, including ASP and working near powerlines, smart metering, telecommunications, automation, solar grid and battery storage, safety training, disconnect and reconnect, online courses, as well as the Certificate III in Electrotechnology for Electrical Apprentices.

About the Role

The Electrical Trainer position will be responsible for delivering the Certificate III in Electrotechnology to Electrical Apprentices, ranging from 1st through to 4th-year Apprentices. Full-time and part-time positions are available.

Essential Criteria:

Electrical licence in any Australian State or Territory.

Completed or enrolled in a Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment (or equivalent) or willingness to complete within the first 12 months of employment.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing.

Ability to work with minimal supervision.

Ability to adapt to a changing environment.

Sound knowledge of workplace safety requirements.

Working with Children Check or ability to attain prior to commencement of employment.

Previous training experience is not necessary—if you have a passion for mentoring others and broad experience in the electrical industry, we encourage you to apply! This role is ideal for someone looking to transition off the tools into a training and mentoring role.

Desirable Criteria:

Previous experience delivering electrical training to apprentices (a higher pay grade will be offered for this experience).

Sound knowledge of statutory regulations related to training in the electrical industry.

Strong computer literacy skills, particularly in Microsoft Office.
