LMW Infrastructure Services Department has commenced delivery of 5 years of capital works worth more than $100M, and we’re growing our planning and project delivery teams with this important role to be a part of this exciting program.
Upcoming planning and delivery works include new water treatment plants, water and wastewater main constructions, water and wastewater pump station construction and many more. It is expected the capital works program will continue to grow over the next 10 years. About the role:
The Senior Electrical Engineer will take lead on the delivery of major electrical and control systems projects for water and wastewater infrastructure. You’ll guide projects from planning through to construction and commissioning, working closely with designers, contractors, and internal teams.
Key aspects of the role include:
The delivery of major capital works, applying established project management techniques, construction supervision & support, contractor management and engineering skills.
Provide advice on electrical design, safety and compliance
Develop HV and LV systems in line with internal and regulatory requirements
Act as custodian of LMW’s High Voltage Procedure and lead HV risk management within LMW
Collaborate across teams to deliver well-integrated, cost-effective solutions
We’re looking for someone with experience in electrical engineering, control systems engineering and project management, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements, safety, operation and maintenance of high voltage infrastructure.
The role is based in either our Mildura or Swan Hill Office in Victoria’s northwest.

We require self-motivated people who are safety conscious looking to work in a fast-paced team environment. To be successful in this role, you would ideally have some of the following.
Experience in strategic planning or asset management to drive the development and implementation of business cases and strategies for the future capital expenditure and pricing paths at LMW.
Experienced engineer or project manager with experience in the civil construction or water industry
An analytical thinker with experience in delivering innovative technical solutions and an eye for detail
Good communication skills and an ability to manage multiple stakeholders
Understanding of how you work in a safe and effective manner

About Lower Murray Water
Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority was created under the provisions of the Water Act 1989 via Order in Council effective 1st of July 2004. It assumed the whole of the property, rights, liabilities, obligations, powers and functions under the Water Act 1989 of the Lower Murray Region Water Authority and Sunraysia Rural Water Authority. LMW reports to the Minister for Water, Environment & Climate Change Ms Lisa Neville.
The Water (Governance Act) 2006 varied the form and title of Lower Murray Water and established new governance arrangements effective from 1st July 2007. Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Authority is now Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Corporation.
On 19th August 2008 a Ministerial Determination under Section 87 of the Water Act 1989, appointed Lower Murray Urban and Rural Water Corporation to take over the whole of the functions, powers and duties of First Mildura Irrigation Trust under the Act, including its functions in respect of all of its districts under the Act.
