About the role

Future Proof Dog Training Academy is seeking a Dog Daycare Coordinator to oversee daily operations, mentor staff, and manage social group dynamics in our structured, enrichment-focused daycare.

As a part-time permanent position with the potential to be full-time, this role is crucial in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of our state-of-the-art play-care facility. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of canine behaviour, and a passion for positive training methods.

What you'll be doing

Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of the daycare facility, ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with veterinary cleaning standards.

Supervise and mentor staff in dog behaviour, social interactions, and structured training.

Conduct behavioural assessments to determine suitability for daycare, Training to Daycare (T2D).

Manage dog integration and transition plans, ensuring appropriate social group placement.

Oversee client communications, providing updates on behaviour, health, and progress.

Coordinate rostering, scheduling, and staff management to ensure efficient daily operations.

Implement and monitor safety and welfare protocols for both dogs and staff.

Capture and manage media content, including photos and videos for internal and external communications.

Assist in the planning and execution of enrichment activities and client engagement events.

What we're looking for

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a supervisory/leadership role within a dog daycare, pet care facility, kennels or shelter.

Formal qualifications in animal care areas (Animal Care Certification III or higher)

Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask, think outside of the box and prioritise effectively

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to handle a variety of operational situations

Proficient in the use of relevant software and technology, including social media platforms, management information systems and Microsoft products

A passion for dog behaviour, structured training, and enrichment based on evidence-based training methods.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with team members and our pawrents

This is a highly physical job you need to have sufficient physical fitness to meet the manual requirements of the job. This involves being on your feet, cleaning, multi-tasking and completing tasks quickly.

Rostered hours (8 hours max per day) will be a consistent schedule falling anywhere between 6:45am-6:15pm, available Monday to Friday (5 days). This is Non-negotiable.
