Cherbourg Regional Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service (CRAICCHS) is an Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Organisation. CRAICCHS aims to provide accessible, high-quality, community-controlled primary health care and social and emotional wellbeing services to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples of the South Burnett.
The Position:
The Family Wellbeing Worker supports Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families experiencing vulnerability. The role provides culturally safe, strengths-based case management. It works across the child protection continuum, including early intervention and reunification. This role helps families through holistic assessments, practical support and therapeutic care. Supporting family-led decisions while building parenting and kinship connections.
Key Duties:
Engage families and build strong, respectful relationships grounded in cultural safety.
Conduct holistic assessments and develop individualised case plans with families.
Provide practical in-home support, group programs and community-based interventions.
Offer emotional support and healing practices within a cultural framework.
Coordinate referrals and support access to playgroups, parenting programs and other universal services.
Collaborate with other services to address complex, interrelated family needs through shared case management.
Support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Family Led Decision Making.
Maintain accurate client records in the ARC system and contribute to planning and evaluation.
Participate in community development activities and promote child and family wellbeing.
Essential:
Certificate III in Community Services or equivalent
Demonstrated ability to work sensitively and effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
Experience in case management and inter-agency collaboration
Competent with computers and client management systems (e.g., MS Office, ARC)
Strong communication, time management, and teamwork skills
Highly Desirable:
Certificate IV in Youth or Family Intervention
Identifies as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander
Knowledge of local communities, cultural frameworks, and child protection issues

This is a fixed-term contract position until March 2029. If government funding is extended, extension to the fixed-term may be available.
Immunisations in line with Vaccination of Healthcare Workers Guideline, including vaccination against vaccine preventable diseases are required.
