Role Overview

As a Table Operator, you will play a vital role in supporting live surgical procedures involving the HANA/PURIST table. Your key responsibilities include:

Setting up the table prior to surgery

Manipulating the table during the operation in coordination with the surgeon

Post-procedure cleaning and packing down

Reporting any equipment issues to the attending company representative

You’ll never work alone - a representative will attend every case.

Professionalism and clear communication are crucial. While anterior approach hip replacement procedures include extended periods of quiet time, you'll need to stay alert and respond quickly to surgical demands. Cases typically last between 3-4 hours, though timing varies.

This position suits individuals with a high degree of flexibility and availability at short notice.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential

Strong understanding of operating theatre infection control procedures

Experience working as a surgical assistant or within a surgical setting

Medical knowledge with emphasis on anatomy

Flexibility across days and times

High attention to detail

IT proficiency

Desirable

Understanding of pre-operative, peri-operative, and post-operative protocols for anterior hip replacement

Experience operating HANA/PURIST tables during procedures

Orthopaedic background

Familiarity with surgical protocols and workflows
