About the role

We are seeking a talented and passionate Centre Chef to join our Childcare service in Reservoir, VIC. This part-time role will see you leading the food preparation and catering for the children in our care, ensuring they receive high-quality, nutritious meals that support their growth and development.

What you'll be doing

Plan, prepare and cook a variety of healthy, balanced meals and snacks for the children

Ensure all food is prepared in a safe and hygienic manner, adhering to all relevant food safety regulations

Manage stock levels, order supplies and maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment

Work closely with the Centre Manager and educators to understand the dietary requirements and preferences of the children

Provide a positive role model for the children by demonstrating good food habits and modelling appropriate mealtime behaviours

Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of the food service

What we're looking for

Formal qualifications in commercial cookery or equivalent experience in a similar role

Experience working in a childcare or early learning environment, or a demonstrated passion for providing nutritious food to young children

Strong understanding of food safety, nutrition and dietary requirements for children

Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

Exceptional communication skills and a friendly, patient and professional manner
