Cragsted Race Engines is offering an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Trade Assistant to become part of a dynamic and fast-paced workshop environment. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on variety, takes initiative, and enjoys being hands-on with high-performance race engines.

About the Role

As a Trade Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the initial and final stages of engine jobs, as well as contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the workshop. Your day-to-day will be diverse, requiring a proactive mindset and a practical approach to problem-solving.

Previous experience in engine assembly is highly regarded and will allow for greater flexibility across workshop tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Fit-up and removal of various race engine designs to and from engine dynos

Manage ordering and stock of workshop consumables

Assist engine assembler with part preparation and ordering

Depending on experience, support engine builder with assembly tasks

General workshop duties including cleaning, deliveries, and dispatch

Use of basic computer programs including Excel, Word, and Outlook

Skills & Experience

Solid understanding and hands-on experience with race engines

Engine assembly/rebuild or machining experience highly desirable

Background in motor racing or working with a racing team is a plus

Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment

Manual driver’s license is essential

Forklift license is highly desirable
