About the role

Iqra Islamic College of South Australia is seeking an experienced and passionate Food Technology & Fashion Design Teacher to join on a full-time, permanent basis. Based in O'Halloran Hill, SA, this role will play a crucial part in delivering engaging and high-quality secondary education to our diverse student body.

Key responsibilities include:

Plan and deliver comprehensive Food Technology and Fashion Design curriculum to students across high school

Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued, respected, and motivated to learn.

Foster positive relationships with students, parents, and colleagues to support the holistic development of each child.

Be passionate about how learning occurs and utilize a variety of appropriate pedagogies to engage students and enhance their understanding of concepts.

Be creative in assessing student progress through ongoing formative and summative assessments and provide feedback to support their growth.

Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement cross-curricular initiatives and extracurricular activities that enrich the learning experience.

Be able to set high standards for student learning and their own performance

What we're looking for

Degree in Education or relevant field.

Valid teaching certification and registration with the Teachers Registration Board of South Australia or any other state.

Demonstrable experience teaching Food Technology and Fashion Design at the secondary school level

Strong subject matter expertise and the ability to engage students through creative, hands-on learning.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, parents and colleagues

Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
