Our business is divided into four main sectors of activity:

- Networks: services and maintenance activities for electrical, gas, water and communications distribution networks, in which the Grupo COBRA has more than 70 years of experience.

- Specialized installations: Construction, installation and maintenance activities for high-voltage electrical networks, telecommunications systems, air conditioning systems, mechanical and naval assembly, nuclear dismantling and the integral maintenance of all types of infrastructures, industry and building.

- Integrated Projects: Engineering, supply, construction and start-up of projects related to the conventional and renewable energy sector, oil and gas infrastructures, desalination plants, drinking water purification and drinking and/or process water purification systems, as well as urban and industrial wastewater treatment and reuse equipment.

- Concession assets: Promotion and construction of concession assets such as renewable infrastructures and transmission lines.

We are currently seeking a Civil Engineer to join our team.

Initially this position is located in our project office in Sydney CBD before transitioning to a roster-based arrangement on site.

Day to day, the role will involve:

Quality, Environmental, and Safety Compliance – Ensure adherence to project quality, environmental, and safety standards, addressing non-conformances, completing defect resolutions, and maintaining compliance with legislative requirements.

Inspection & Audits – Conduct inspections, prepare reports, manage subcontractor audits, and ensure corrective actions for quality assurance.

Hazard & Risk Management – Assess high-risk activities, implement control measures, and participate in safety plan updates, ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety regulations.

Planning & Operations – Support construction planning, manage operational work crews, oversee subcontractor programs, and monitor project progress for timely and cost-effective execution.

Resource Management – Allocate and track subcontractor resources, optimize workforce coordination, and monitor resourcing against project budgets.

Scheduling & Reporting – Maintain project schedules, track progress, prepare reports, and coordinate project activities to meet deadlines.

Financial Control – Manage cost control for specific scopes, forecast risks, process subcontractor payments, and oversee cost recovery measures.

Innovation & Efficiency – Propose workplace safety improvements, cost-saving measures, and program acceleration techniques for enhanced project execution.

Communication & Coordination – Facilitate effective communication among project teams, attend client/contractor meetings, and resolve project-related issues.

Regulatory & Contractual Compliance – Ensure all works align with contract requirements, industry regulations, and community commitments.

Candidate Qualifications and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree (Engineering)

Preferable 3 – 4 continue years’ experience in a construction/engineering in TL or Energy environment.

Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others.

Establish and steward overall delivery work plans.

Ensuring all relevant regulatory requirements are satisfied.

Competent in planning and organising work schedules.

Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same.

Clear communication – verbal and written in English and preferable Portuguese/Spanish.
