About the role
Reporting to the Governance Manager, this crucial role is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for all employees at a specific construction site. The HS&E Advisor acts as the primary point of contact for all safety-related matters and plays a vital role in minimising workplace risks and hazards.

You can anticipate potential hazards, identify solutions and takes the initiative to implement effective safety measures. You communicate effectively with all levels of an organisation and build strong relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
Essential
At least 2 years’ experience as a HS&E Advisor or 5 years’ experience as a HS&E Administrator/Coordinator
Unrestricted Australian Driver’s license
Cert IV in Workplace Health and Safety, or Higher
Work Safe in the Construction Industry Induction Certificate (White Card)
Desirable
Previous Experience within the Solar Industry
Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator
Tickets and/or licenses in operation of plant relevant to Civil Construction
Ability to undertake responsibilities and co-ordination of significant HS&E projects

Base Salary $105- $120k
20% Site Based Allowance uplift
DIDO or FIFO, Car Provided
Food Supplied/ Allowance, Accommodation Supplied
Hours/days
3 Weeks on 1 week off roster (Monthly)
Based onsite initially on Broadsound in Queensland and then projects across the state and country!
Main duties and responsibilities
Support the implementation of the company HS&E Management System
Monitoring current and potential health and safety risks and hazards in the workplace
Participating in corporate-level hazard assessments and developing and approving controls for
identified hazards.
Monitoring and addressing compliance with all health and safety legislation.
Providing advice and direction to employees and management on how to minimise or ultimately
avoid risks and hazards in the workplace.
Offering general health and safety advice to all employees
Identify appropriate health and safety training for different hierarchical levels and ensure all employees have adequate training for the job at hand.
Provide guidance, train and monitor junior HSE team members in their tasks
Delivering health and safety training and presentations, including new hire orientations
Organising safety meetings and preparing Weekly Toolbox Talks
Ensuring safety inspections and audits are completed at the prescribed intervals and that corrective actions are taken to correct identified deficiencies. (SWMS, JSEAS, Take 5’s and other applicable risk assessments included)
Regularly visit each work front and interact with employees. Review their work practices and
coach them accordingly. Resolve concerns and escalate if necessary.
Lead in Emergency Situations as per Procedures and ensure all Personnel is accounted for
Complete Incident Reporting and advise on potential mitigation plans.
Oversee site cleanliness and report to supervisors any recurring issues.
Look for creative ways that will improve BAM BAM’s Safety culture.
Mentor other BAM BAM safety advisors assigned to site if applicable.
Control and monitor PPE.
Assisting with pre-start reviews
Provide Daily Sign-on Tablet to personnel and ensure everyone is signed on.
Prepare Monthly HSE Report
General HSE communications with the client.
Consulting about potential HR Issues with the Construction Manager.
Assisting with organising new starters.
Assist with organising onboarding of plant and equipment
