Position: Labourer – Public Amenities
Location: Margate
Employment Type: Mon – Fri, 38 hrs a week until Sep 2025 with possibility of extension
Payrate: $33.15/hr + super (Please note weekend and public holiday roster will be required.)
Maxima is currently seeking various highly motivated individuals as a Labourer for one of our government clients. To provide mobile public amenities cleaning services to support the efficient cleaning and sanitising of Council-operated public toilets and related facilities. This role includes the servicing of bins, removal of litter, and may involve assistance with general waste management duties.
Key Responsibilities & Outcomes
- Carry out cleaning tasks for public amenities as instructed by the Supervisor, ensuring all duties are completed safely, effectively, and on time.
- Operate and maintain amenities cleaning vehicles safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and Council safety policies and procedures.
- Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely, in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions and Council procedures, including the proper use of PPE.
- Accurately complete administrative tasks and documentation related to cleaning and waste collection duties.
- Adhere to all relevant legislation, policies, procedures, and approved standards relating to public amenities services.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic environment around Council toilets and associated facilities.
- Foster positive relationships with team members, internal stakeholders, and the community to support high-quality service delivery.
What We’re Looking For:
- Current C Class driver’s licence (MR licence desirable).
- Current Construction Induction Card (White Card) obtained or used within the past two years.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills suitable for interacting with colleagues, residents, and ratepayers.
- Competency in completing basic administrative tasks and using relevant workplace technologies.
- Strong time management and self-motivation skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a customer-focused approach.
