Ausfront Pty Ltd - Modern Group is a division of one of the largest home improvement companies in Australia with a reputation for selling and installing the highest quality home improvement products in the market. We are currently offering a number full-time roles that would be well suited to a high quality, experienced and professional roofing trades people.

The work will be ongoing and primarily involve ReRoofing, Guttering, Facia and downpipe replacement along with associated work. All scheduling and ordering is handled by our service department and product can collected on a daily basis.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

Installation Tasks

Measure, cut, and install metal roofing sheets, cladding, fascia, guttering, downpipes, ridge capping, flashing, verandas and carports in accordance with construction drawings and specifications.

Remove and safely dispose of roof tiles, metal roofing sheets, cladding, fascia, guttering, downpipes, ridge capping, flashing, verandas and carports

Fit insulation and sarking under roof sheets and ensure waterproofing integrity.

Install rainwater collection systems including box gutters, rainheads, sumps, and drainage components.

Installation of Tie-Downs and battens as required

Undertake roof penetrations and install flashings around skylights, vents, and flues.

Maintenance and Repair

Inspect existing roofing and drainage systems for deterioration, water ingress, and corrosion.

Repair or replace damaged roof sheets, gutters, and associated components.

Seal leaks and ensure all roof plumbing installations remain watertight and compliant.

Site and Safety Compliance

Set out and prepare roofing projects according to building codes and safety plans.

Work safely at heights in accordance with WorkSafe regulations and maintain use of PPE, harnesses, and fall protection systems.

Install safety mesh, walkways, and anchorage systems where required.

Ensure tools and materials are used correctly and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment.

Teamwork and Communication

Collaborate with other trades to ensure timely project completion.

Communicate with supervisors and clients to clarify requirements and report progress.

Accurately complete job documentation, checklists, and compliance forms.

Skills and Competencies

Essential

Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical plans and specifications.

Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and metal fabrication equipment.

Understanding of roofing pitch, water flow, and drainage principles.

Knowledge of Australian Standards (e.g., AS/NZS 3500.3 and AS/NZS 1562.1) and NCC compliance requirements.

Competence working at heights and in outdoor environments.

Skilled in the safe operation of a manual vehicle and trailer

Desirable

Experience with Colorbond, Zincalume, and other Australian roofing products (cement tiles, terracotta tiles, asbestos.)

Familiarity with construction industry practices and materials in state.

Experience and Qualification Requirements

Certificate III in Roof Plumbing or Equivalent

Relevant experience as a Roof Plumber, including experience with metal roofing systems, gutters, and drainage installation.

Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes in line with safety and quality standards.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

Outdoor work in varying weather conditions across metropolitan and regional sites.

Physically demanding role including lifting, bending, working at heights, and using ladders and scaffolding.

This is a Full-Time role, and work may involve early starts, overtime, and weekend shifts depending on project timelines.
