Are you an organised, proactive professional with a passion for animals and people? We're looking for a motivated Assistant Practice Manager to help support and elevate our veterinary practice. This is a part-time leadership opportunity ideal for someone with experience in administration or healthcare management who’s ready to step up and make an impact.

About The Practice

Both our practices are award winning, with VSBSA hospital accreditation at Pet Universe Broadview. Pet Universe Northgate has an increasingly complex surgical & rehabilitation caseload as well as our unique feline only entrance. Both our practices hold Gold Cat Friendly Accreditation through the International Feline Medicine Society.

About the Role

As Assistant Practice Manager, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day coordination of our veterinary team, ensuring the smooth operation of the practice and contributing to a supportive, positive workplace culture. You’ll be hands-on in rostering, payroll, compliance, and daily workflow management—and act as a trusted second-in-charge to the Practice Manager.

What You’ll Be Doing

1. Day-to-Day Operations & Administration

Manage daily admin tasks to keep the practice running smoothly

Coordinate staff rosters and approve payroll using Employment Hero

Oversee in-house healthcare plans and overseas insurance processes

Monitor OHS compliance and support team wellbeing

Handle banking and general practice communications

Step into Practice Manager duties as required

2. Practice Growth & Innovation

Support the Practice Manager with new projects and initiatives

Assist with the transition to new technologies (e.g. cloud-based PMS)

Conduct research to support future business development

3. Quality & Culture

Help uphold high clinical, customer service and operational standards

Contribute to maintaining a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team culture

Ensure workflows and systems reflect our commitment to excellence

What We’re Looking For

Proven experience in administration, management, or healthcare settings

A confident communicator who thrives in a team leadership role

Tech-savvy and process-oriented

Passion for animals and a genuine interest in veterinary care

Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure

Able to work 3- 4 days a week in a part time position
