A Victorian government authority responsible for upholding the standards of the teaching profession is seeking a dedicated professional to join its busiest branch at this time of year. The branch plays a critical role in managing registration, assessing applications, engaging with stakeholders, and ensuring compliance through education and audit programs.
Your new role
As a Senior Customer Service Officer, you will assess registration applications in line with legislative and policy requirements. You'll respond to enquiries via phone and email. The role may involve handling sensitive matters and contributing to process improvements and system development. You'll work collaboratively across teams to support high-quality, risk-based regulatory activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing registration applications using professional judgement
- Explaining policies and procedures to diverse stakeholders
- Identifying and resolving operational challenges
- Supporting improvements in branch processes and systems
- Recording activities accurately and contributing to system enhancements
- Upholding public sector values and respectful workplace behaviours
What you'll need to succeed
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage tasks systematically and meet deadlines
- Sound problem-solving skills and ability to interpret legislation and policy
- A collaborative mindset and ability to build effective relationships
- High attention to detail, resilience, and adaptability
- Experience in high-volume customer service or registration/ licencing environments (desirable)
