About the opportunity

We are seeking BPT3 Physician Registrars to work in our Internal Medicine teams at Werribee Mercy Hospital. Rotations to subspecialty experience are expanding rapidly. The positions are based at Werribee Mercy Hospital which is the fastest growing region in Melbourne.

The hospital serves a diverse community which permits a broad range of clinical presentations at varying stages. The opportunity to learn from this is unparalleled in metropolitan Melbourne due to the range of presentations and the focus of the hospital on providing excellent generalist care with subspecialty input when required.

The hospital holds level 2 BPT accreditation from the RACP. The Director of Physician Education is supported by the Director of General Medicine and Deputy to provide a strong education program to prepare for examination in collaboration with our network hospitals. Prospective examinees will find the diverse presentations excellent preparation for the clinical exam.

The physician body is rapidly expanding with generalists supported by a growing group of subspecialists with a strong interest in teaching, forming an excellent resource for clinical exam preparation.

Terms are available in:

  • General Medicine with team specialties available in: Stroke, Renal, Gastroenterology, Acute Geriatrics and Endocrinology
  • Community Geriatrics (GEM@Home)
  • Intensive Care
  • Orthogeries

You will be supported by advanced trainees in general medicine in core, core-related, cardiology and respiratory terms.

All BPTs have a weekly outpatient clinic exposure. Exposure to procedures as part of rotations can be arranged.

BPT3 positions are offered through the PMCV Computer matching service. Please check eligibility as part of the Match Registration with the PMCV. https://allocations.pmcv.com.au

Applications must be made to both the PMCV and Mercy Health.
