JOB OPPORTUNITY: EXPERIENCED FIBRE SPLICER – NBN PROJECTS

Join Australia’s expanding telecommunications sector and help build the backbone of our digital future. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fibre Splicer to support ongoing projects on the National Broadband Network (NBN) through major contractors including Decon Technologies, Service Stream, and Ventia. Preference given to those recently onboarded with at least 2 of these Companies.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform fibre splicing, termination, and testing to NBN Co standards FTTP, MDU, SD1, SD2, N2P and BDOD.

Read and interpret fibre plans, schematics, and work instructions.

Use of OTDR, LTS, and other fibre testing equipment.

Complete daily job packs, compliance paperwork, and site audits.

Work in pits, manholes, buildings and Telstra Exchanges.

Liaise with supervisors, network designers, and field teams to ensure successful delivery of works.

Mandatory Requirements:

Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Fibre Splicer on NBN projects.

Proven experience working under Decon Technologies, Service Stream, or Ventia in the last 12 months.

NBN Enable Accreditation and Skills

- Asbestos Pit Remediation and Drilling into Asbestos Containing Material

- Enable Skill 9, 12, 13, and 21

Valid ACMA Open Cabling Certificate 3.

Current White Card (Construction Induction Card).

First Aid & CPR Certification (Current).

Police Check (within last 6 months).

RIIWHS302E- Implement Traffic Management Plan.

Current Driver’s Licence.

Ability to work Monday to Friday and regional travel as required.
