Eric Child & Sons is a small, family-owned and operated business specializing in land clearing, green waste, and mulching. We offer a friendly work environment, down-to-earth culture, and full-time hours (initially casual). We’re looking for an enthusiastic person with an excellent work ethic and a positive attitude to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

To perform this role successfully, the individual must be able to carry out the following duties satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned as required:

· Operate heavy combination trucks in compliance with company safety policies and procedures.

· Operate walking floor semi-trailers and low loader trailers as required.

· Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform preventative maintenance.

· Follow standard operating procedures for safe vehicle operation and maintenance.

· Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• General Safety Card (Construction Induction) required.

Licences and Certifications:

• HC (Heavy Combination) Driver Licence – must be competent in driving a manual truck.

• Excavator ticket preferred but not essential.

Work Environment

· Primarily field or holding yard-based work.

· Requires motor coordination and dexterity for machine operation most of the day.

· Physical effort required when handling materials.

· Exposure to dirt, odours, noise, and weather extremes is common.

· Must be physically fit for the role.
