Where you'll be working
Westmead Hospital’s Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is seeking experienced neonatal registered nurses (or other critical care registered nurses) for employment. Westmead NICU is co-located with The Children’s Hospital at Westmead and situated within the largest birthing hospital in NSW. As such, Westmead NICU is a fast-paced environment who provides care for critically unwell, premature and growing neonates with a variety of medical conditions. It prioritises evidence-based healthcare for neonates and is a leader in neonatal research.

What you'll be doing
Step into a pivotal role where your expertise in clinical education directly shapes excellence in patient care. In this dynamic position, you will design, deliver, and evaluate high-quality clinical education programs in close collaboration with Nurse Management, Nurse Educators, and Clinical Nurse Consultants.
Your work will empower nursing teams to achieve best practice standards, enhance patient experiences, and drive improved health outcomes across our service. Essential Criteria:
- Registration:Current authority to practice as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
Selection Criteria:
- Demonstrated extensive clinical experience and/ or post registration qualification in the relevant speciality and nursing professional development/education.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and implement change within the context of best practice clinical care and workplace culture
- Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate clinical education at the ward level, and provide support and guidance to ensure an appropriately skilled and qualified nursing and midwifery workforce, working within appropriate models of care.
- Demonstrated effective and high level communication skills including negotiation and conflict resolutions skills in addition to proven ability to motivate and engage people in the clinical setting.
- Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous improvement whilst ensuring currency of practice in the relevant specialty.
- Strong commitment to the on-going development/enhancement of nursing practice within a patient centred, multi-disciplinary clinical environment.
- Relevant computer skills including database programmes and data entry.
