The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Head of Science (Secondary) to join our team at Chinchilla Christian College, commencing Term 1, January 2026. This leadership position is for an initial three year term, which can then be reviewed.

As Head of Science (Secondary), you will manage the Secondary Science department and teacher Science classes. You will be able to teach either Senior Chemistry, Biology, Physics or Psychology.

As a Secondary Head of Science, you will receive a remuneration package circa $104,000 - $127,519 per annum based on your experience level, plus super and position of added responsibility (PAR) 5% of Proficient 6.

Qualities, Qualifications, Skills
To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for leading a Science department and a strong knowledge of the current curriculum.
You will be required to:
Provide a current Christian church leader as a referee,
Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or Graduate Diploma if you hold a Bachelor in a different field,
Be a qualified teacher with QLD College of Teacher’s Registration (QCT) or can obtain QCT Registration,
Minimum 5+ years teaching Secondary Science, with demonstrated success in student outcomes,
Support the College's mission, aims and values,
Have a strong knowledge of the curriculum and be able to teach it from a Biblical perspective,
Contribute to co-curricular activities,
Confidently lead student learning within a productive classroom environment,
Demonstrate strong organisational skills, with an ability to effectively prioritise, and
Possess excellent interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills.
