As part of our 2024–2028 strategy to improve health and wellbeing in regional WA, RFDS is expanding its Primary Health Care services. One of our exciting new initiatives is the launch of our first RFDS General Practice Clinic in Kalgoorlie, in partnership with Curtin University’s Goldfields Department of Rural Health.
The clinic will support both the local community and future health professionals, offer quality care including preventative health and health promotion, while giving students hands-on experience in regional healthcare.
About you
We’re looking for a FIFO General Practitioner to join the RFDS WA team and help deliver high-quality care at our new General Practice Clinic opening in Kalgoorlie in 2025. You’ll need:
AHPRA Medical Registration
Specialist qualifications: FRACGP or FACRRM
Previous experience working in General Practice
We also welcome applications from candidates who wish to relocate to Kalgoorlie. The role can be offered as Permanent Part-Time (0.25 FTE - 1 in 4 weeks/ 37.6 hour week) or Casual, depending on your availability.
About the Role
Support the delivery of and commitment to quality, patient outcome-focused care working closely with the team to develop and deliver efficient and effective care and service delivery
Provide clinical care to patients by delivering meaningful preventative care and health promotion to help patients manage their health within the community.
Provide clinical support to the General Practitioners, Primary Health Care Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Allied Health Practitioners and Students where applicable.
Create a strong sense of working as a team, promoting multi-disciplinary teamwork and clinical excellence by motivating and developing each clinician individually and as part of a team
Provide input with regard to development of clinical protocols/procedures, using evidence-based practices and ensuring they meet the standards required for accreditation
Have an interest in educating the next generation of clinicians and provide clinical training opportunities for students.
Promote and maintain collegiate relationships with the local medical and education facilities.

About Us
The mission of the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Western Operations) is to provide excellence in aeromedical and primary health care across Western Australia. Every member of the RFDS WO team contributes to that mission and living our values of showing respect, demonstrating fairness, utilising diversity and being safe.
