FNQ Podiatry & Orthotics is a modern Podiatry practice with three clinics located in and around Cairns and 16 staff. Managing Director, Kyle Richardson who was previously a supervisor at the Podiatry school at QUT, is passionate about helping Podiatrists develop into world-class clinicians. Due to this, full clinical supervision and professional development opportunities will be provided for the successful applicant.
FNQ Podiatry & Orthotics is focused on all areas of Podiatry however has a large focus on the sport and biomechanical side of the profession. We are the treating Podiatry clinic for the Cairns Taipans NBL team and the Northern Pride Rugby League team. In line with this biomechanical focus, we are proud to be the only Podiatry clinic north of Brisbane to have a running rehab room and gym in our facility!

About the job:
9 day fortnight living in tropical North QLD (long weekends to explore the reef and rainforest!)
10K Relocation allowance!
1K CPD allowance annually!

Extremely thorough mentorship program! Weekly one on one and fortnightly as a clinical team
Core Duties:
a. Clinical Assessment and Diagnosis
Conduct comprehensive biomechanical, musculoskeletal, and neurological assessments.
Diagnose foot, ankle, and lower limb conditions using clinical evaluation and relevant diagnostic tools (e.g., gait analysis, pressure mapping).
b. Treatment and Management
Develop and implement personalised treatment plans for acute and chronic conditions.
Administer a wide range of therapies including:
Orthotic prescription and modification
Shockwave therapy
Dry needling
Laser therapy (e.g., for fungal nails)
Nail and skin care (ingrown nails, corns, calluses, verrucae)
Minor surgical procedures (e.g., nail surgery)
c. Patient Education
Educate patients on prevention, self-care, rehabilitation, and proper footwear choices.
Provide guidance on chronic condition management such as diabetes and arthritis.
d. Documentation and Compliance
Maintain accurate and timely patient records using clinic software.
Ensure all clinical notes and treatment plans meet professional and medico-legal standards.
e. Multidisciplinary Collaboration
Liaise with general practitioners, physiotherapists, orthopaedic specialists, and other allied health professionals to coordinate holistic patient care.
Participate in case conferences and referral pathways.
f. Professional Development
Participate in internal and external professional development, workshops, and training programs.
Stay updated with current research and best practices in podiatric care.
g. Business and Clinical Operations Support
Contribute to the overall functioning of the clinic, including assisting with marketing initiatives, team meetings, and internal audits.
Experience and skills required:
We welcome applications from podiatrists at all stages of their career, from enthusiastic new graduates to seasoned professionals looking for a rewarding change.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Bachelor of Podiatry (or equivalent) from a recognised institution.
Current unrestricted AHPRA registration (or willingness to obtain)
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Australian working rights (or eligibility for relevant visa sponsorship, e.g., 482 visa).
An Interest and willingness to help grow the practice, including hands on marketing. Support and education will be provided to help develop your skills in this area.
