About the role

National Parks and Wildlife Service has a unique opportunity for a Discovery Guide (Tour Guide) to work as part of the team and contribute towards the conservation of the natural environment, flora, fauna and Aboriginal heritage.

The South Coast Branch is currently seeking to appoint a Discovery Guide to implement diverse activities and learning experiences for visitors across various locations to foster community awareness, appreciation and understanding for conserving the state’s natural and cultural heritage.

This hands-on, educational role will focus on conducting weekday excursions, school holiday leisure programs and weekend leisure programs.

About You

Your strong communication skills are paramount to the success of this role, as you will be delivering programs to different stakeholders. Self-management is important for this role as there may be times you will be working alone and will need to ensure safety is a priority meeting the required Work Health Safety standards. Your experience in teaching and education is also highly valued.

Holding a Current Australian Drivers Licence, or willingness to obtain is desirable.

Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekdays, weekends, public holidays and school holidays.
