About the role
As the Senior Pharmacist, you will be responsible for the organisation, management, and daily operation and provision of clinical and quality use of medicines and governance services in Cancer. You will deliver a comprehensive range of high-level pharmacy services, exercising independent and autonomous judgement to provide expert medicines information and therapeutic advice to patients, medical, nursing, and allied health staff. Your work will ensure adherence to hospital and divisional policies, professional standards, and all relevant pharmacy practice guidelines.
In this key role, you will optimise patient outcomes by implementing strategies for the safe, effective, and cost-efficient use of pharmaceuticals. You will lead quality improvement initiatives, provide ongoing support and education to colleagues, and collaborate across disciplines to maintain the highest standards of pharmaceutical care and drive excellence in patient outcomes.
About You
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate the following key attributes and qualifications:
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor of Pharmacy or equivalent, with registration (or eligibility) with the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
Extensive experience in hospital pharmacy practice, with proven leadership or management capability.
Skills & Abilities:
Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
Exceptional organisation and attention to detail, with the ability to manage deadlines and work autonomously.
Professional Competence:
Sound knowledge of pharmacy practice, codes, and standards, with a demonstrated capacity for research, data analysis, and continuous service improvement.
Teamwork & Leadership:
Proven ability to lead, supervise, and train others, and work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
