About the role

We are seeking expressions of interest for casual umpire roles to work across our Swan Active Social Sports Competitions.

These roles will be based at Swan Active Midland, and we may also have positions at our Beechboro location too.

We are looking for energetic and proactive individuals, who are passionate about sport, with experience umpiring or coaching sport (Basketball, Netball, Indoor Volleyball, Indoor Soccer) to join our dynamic Swan Active team.

Our umpires and coaches will play a crucial role in all our programs and competitions and will be committed to providing excellent customer service to all participants, emphasising fun, enjoyment, and participation.

Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to;

  • Umpire/Officiate sporting programs as set out by the sporting governing body and Centre’s by-laws.
  • Communicate and engage with teams, players, and parents/caregivers respectfully and support with delivering a high-quality customer experience.
  • Ensure all games and/or coaching programs commence at the published time.
  • Ensure all score sheets/player attendance are completed and participants/teams have paid the appropriate game fee.
  • Complete any basic administrational duties such as incident/injury reports.
  • Assist in the development of other umpiring/coaching staff where requested.
  • Ensure the courts are clean, safe and prepared for programs and packed down at completion.
  • Ensure the programs and games are coached/umpired/officiated with the safety of yourself and other players in mind.

About you

The successful candidate will have the following:

  • Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain.
  • Umpiring or coaching experience (desirable)
  • A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required.

About working with us

The hourly rate for this position will be from $15.50 (under 17 years old) to $28.19 (plus 25% casual loading) depending on the age of the successful applicant.
