We are an established boat manufacturer based in Coolum Beach on Queensland's Sunshine Coast who design and build new high-performance, blue-water multihull yachts.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a factory based job that will see you painting and fairing one new 55ft carbon fibre catamaran every three months. This role will focus on all marine painting-related work, including:

Filling and fairing (hand and machine)

Surface and paint preparation to spec

Defect identification and correction

Masking & encapsulating

Preparation for top-coats

Airless & conventional spraying

We want:

Experienced Marine Spray Painters / Leading Hands

Fairers & Sanders

Trade Assistants / Labourers looking for a start in the industry

ABOUT YOU

You are a hands-on, enthusiastic individual who takes pride in producing high-quality work and is not afraid to get stuck in, especially when the task is physically demanding, sweat-inducing and dirty!

Preferred skills & attributes:

Experience in the marine paint industry, or the auto paint industry, or plastering

Experience in using hand, power and air tools, & in particular: orbital, rotary and longboard sanders

A focus on quality workmanship and shows exceptional attention to detail

Able to follow instructions and take initiative where needed

Be flexible, reliable and a team player with a can-do attitude

Trade qualifications will be viewed favorably

Permanent/full rights to work in Australia (this is a MUST-HAVE requirement, we do NOT offer sponsorship)

Negotiable pay rate for anyone with 5+ years industry experience in spray painting/fairing superyachts

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU

9 day fortnight roster - work hours are Monday to Thursday 6am to 3:15pm, every second Friday is a half-day (6am to midday), with the alternate Friday being a "no-work day"
