About the role

Wombat Hire is seeking an experienced HR Truck Driver and Maintenance / Mechanic to join our team in Maryborough / Hervey Bay, QLD. This full-time position will see you take on the dual responsibilities of driving our fleet of trucks as well as maintaining and servicing equipment to ensure they remain in peak operating condition.

What you'll be doing

Safely operating our fleet of heavy rigid trucks to deliver equipment to customers across the region

Performing regular inspections, maintenance and repairs on our equipment to keep them running smoothly

Maintaining detailed records of all plant servicing and repairs

Identifying and addressing any mechanical issues to prevent breakdowns

Cleaning equipment after hire and doing pre hire checks

What we're looking for

A current HR driver's licence with a proven safe driving record using road ranger gearbox

Strong mechanical and maintenance skills, with the ability to diagnose and repair faults

Experience working as a truck driver and/or mechanic, ideally in the transport or logistics industry

Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to safety

The ability to work independently as well as part of a team

Good time management and organizational skills
