Join AMAT as a Casual NDIS Exercise Physiologist – Empower Lives Through Movement

Are you passionate about helping people improve their health and achieve their goals through tailored exercise programs? AMAT is seeking a dedicated NDIS Exercise Physiologist to join our supportive and inclusive team. You’ll work with a diverse range of NDIS participants in our exclusive NDIS gym space, delivering evidence-based interventions that promote mobility, independence, and overall wellbeing.

In this hands-on role, you’ll assess client needs, design and deliver individualised programs, and monitor progress across a variety of physical and psychosocial conditions. You’ll also be responsible for delivering these exercise physiology programs to AMAT support workers, who will help facilitate the sessions with participants under your guidance.

In addition to sessions at our facility, there may be occasional community-based sessions depending on client needs, so a full driver’s licence is essential.

You’ll collaborate closely with support coordinators, allied health professionals, and support staff to ensure holistic, person-centred care.

This casual position offers flexibility and the opportunity to work towards a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver one-on-one exercise sessions for NDIS participants in our accessible gym.

Conduct functional assessments and develop tailored exercise physiology programs.

Train and guide AMAT support workers to safely and effectively deliver the prescribed exercise programs with NDIS participants.

Monitor client progress and modify interventions as needed.

Maintain accurate clinical notes and documentation in line with NDIS and ESSA standards.

Liaise with family members, allied health professionals, and the broader AMAT team.

Foster a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants.

Provide community-based exercise sessions where required.

Skills and Experience:

Accredited Exercise Physiologist with current ESSA membership (or actively working towards).

Experience or strong interest in working with NDIS participants with diverse physical and psychosocial needs.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, especially when liaising with support workers and clients.

Ability to work autonomously and manage a flexible caseload.

Organised, proactive, and genuinely passionate about improving the lives of others.

Familiarity with NDIS documentation and reporting processes (highly regarded).

Essential Requirements:

Full driver’s licence and reliable transport (for community visits as needed).

NDIS Orientation Certificate.

NDIS Worker Screening Check and current Police Clearance.

Current First Aid & CPR certification.

Ability to obtain and maintain a Working with Children Check (WWCC).
