About the role

Gympie Day and Evening Clinic is seeking a motivated and experienced Enrolled Nurse to join our dedicated healthcare team in Gympie, Queensland. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity for a nursing professional to contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

What you'll be doing

Providing comprehensive nursing care to patients, including administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and documenting patient progress

Collaborating with the multi-disciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualised treatment plans

Promoting patient education and supporting patients in managing their health conditions

Maintaining accurate and detailed patient records in accordance with relevant policies and procedures

Assisting with the coordination of patient admissions, discharges, and transfers

Demonstrating a commitment to continuous professional development and contributing to the ongoing improvement of nursing practices

🔹 Clinical Duties

Chronic Disease Management/ Health Assessment

Monitoring and managing conditions like diabetes, asthma, hypertension, and cardiovascular disease.

Providing education on lifestyle changes, medications, and self-care.

Assisting in care planning and regular follow-ups.

Preventive Care & Health Promotion

Immunizations and vaccinations (e.g., flu, childhood vaccines).

Health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, cholesterol, cervical smears, breast checks).

Lifestyle advice (e.g., smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol use).

Wound Care

Assessing, dressing, and managing acute and chronic wounds.

Post-operative care.

Triage and Assessment

Assessing patient needs, prioritizing urgency, and guiding them to the appropriate care pathway.

Medication Administration

Administering injections (e.g., B12, contraceptives), and assisting in medication reviews.

Assisting with Minor Procedures

Supporting GPs during minor surgical procedures, biopsies, or other in-practice treatments.

What we're looking for

Current registration as a Enrolled Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)

Minimum of 2 years' experience in a general medical or surgical nursing role

Strong clinical skills and a commitment to providing high-quality, evidence-based nursing care

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team

Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage a diverse workload

A commitment to continuous professional development and a passion for delivering exceptional patient outcomes

Should know how to perform ECG/ spirometry /Ankle Brachial Index/ Ear syringing
