The Nintirri Centre is a not-for-profit community organisation based in Tom Price servicing the local and Indigenous communities. Nintirri has an exciting opportunity for a Community Midwife and Registered Nurse to join the Community Health and Wellbeing Team in a full time capacity.

Reporting to the Community Health & Wellbeing Coordinator, this position requires the successful candidate to provide midwifery services to the Tom Price, Parabardoo and surrounding communities. As well as assist the Community Nurse and conduct health promotion activities.

Specifically, the role entails:

Antenatal and postnatal care

Community nursing care on country

Primary health care to Tom Price, Paraburdoo and surrounding communities

Coordination of health promotion activities and events

Accurate record keeping for reporting purposes

Participate in team and organisational meetings

Provision of Women's Health Services

Sexual health screening and assessment (if qualified)

Essential:

Current Division 1 Registered Midwife registration

Current Division 1 Registered Nurse registration

Current Working with Children Check (or willing to obtain)

Current Criminal Record Screening (or willing to obtain)

Current Drivers License

Cultural Awareness and understanding

Ability to work in team environment

Competency and reliability to work autonomously

Desirable:

Sexual Health and cervical screening qualifications

Experience in Primary health care

Experience working with Indigenous communities or populations

Women's Health Qualifications

Experience working in Women's Health Services
