A national infrastructure delivery business is seeking a senior Design & Engineering Manager to lead its internal engineering function across a diverse portfolio of water and civil D&C projects.
This role offers an exceptional opportunity to drive design governance, lead a team of senior engineers, and shape project outcomes from strategy through to delivery. You’ll oversee both complex, bespoke projects and efficient repeat-scope works across Australia.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of lead engineers and a broader multidisciplinary design group
• Drive technical assurance, governance frameworks, and risk management systems
• Oversee engineering across multiple concurrent projects nationally
• Ensure alignment between design, construction, commercial, and client teams
• Establish scalable internal systems and foster a culture of performance and accountability

Your Background

• 10+ years in D&C design and engineering, ideally in water or civil infrastructure
• Proven leadership across internal engineering teams, not just external consultant coordination
• Experience managing portfolios or programs, not just single projects
• Strong grasp of constructability, risk, and systems-led technical governance
• Previous work within Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractors highly regarded
• Chartered status (CPEng, RPEQ) desirable
