Looking for a role where your driving makes a real difference? Join a team that puts people first.

At Burnie Brae, we’ve been proudly supporting Brisbane North and Moreton Bay communities for over 40 years. We're a not-for-profit with heart - offering services that help older adults live independently, confidently and stay connected with their community.

We’re currently looking for a Community Transport Driver to join our team on a part-time basis. You’ll be based out of our Chermside hub, providing safe, friendly and flexible transport services for our clients across the North Brisbane region.

The Role
This is more than a driving job. As one of our valued drivers, you’ll help older adults maintain their independence by getting them where they need to go—appointments, group outings, shopping trips or scenic day trips.

Our services include a unique “home on request” option, which gives our clients the freedom to return home when they’re ready. It’s this level of care and flexibility that sets us apart.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Driving a variety of vehicles, including sedans, vans and small buses
  • Providing a door-through-door service—not just drop-offs
  • Assisting clients with entering and exiting vehicles
  • Managing daily transport schedules
  • Working closely with the transport team to ensure reliable, on-time service
  • Delivering exceptional customer service with a friendly, respectful approach

This role is a great fit if you:

  • Enjoy working with people and making their day easier
  • Are reliable, flexible and calm under pressure
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Can work independently and collaboratively
  • Are comfortable assisting elderly or mobility-impaired clients

To be successful, you’ll need:

  • A current Light Rigid (LR) Licence (or higher)
  • A Driver’s Authority (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Previous experience driving vans or buses (highly regarded)
  • A current National Police Check
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain)

Why Burnie Brae?
We value our people - our team is at the heart of everything we do.

At Burnie Brae, we take pride in being an employer of choice. We offer:

  • Salary packaging boosting your take-home pay ($15,900+ up to $2,650 for meals & entertainment)
  • 17.5% annual leave loading
  • Flexible and hybrid work options (where applicable)
  • Access to free mental health support (EAP)
  • Discounted gym, physio, and massage services
  • Recognition and rewards (your hard work is seen, valued, and celebrated)
  • Staff discounts across Burnie Brae services (cafe, health insurance, travel and more)
  • Blue Light Card savings on retail and everyday expenses
  • First aid certification is paid for roles where required

Ready to help your community get moving? Apply today with your resume and a short cover letter.

We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, committed to building a team that reflects a rich diversity of backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives.
