ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
The Infrastructure team focuses on managing the daily presentation of the public domain within the Cumberland City Area, ensuring that it is maintained and presented so that residents and visitors are proud of the area and it meets their expectations.
The Team Member Infrastructure will be responsible to perform various forms of maintenance works including footpath, road and drainage maintenance. The Team Member will ensure they are working efficiently and effectively meeting both Councils and communities expectations through a works program that utilises the industries best practice.
The successful applicant will require:
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in Civil maintenance operations
- Demonstrate sound knowledge in multiple infrastructure operations functional areas such as road maintenance, footpath maintenance and drainage system maintenance
- Be able to work as part of a team
- Knowledge of the operating of small plants e.g. small roller, plate compactor, grinding machine and spray unit
- Be able to work overtime when required and for emergencies
- Demonstrate a strong customer focus with sound customer service skills and the ability to embrace a system of change and continual improvement
- Class Medium Rigid (MR) Drivers Licence or willing to obtain
- Current Traffic Control Work Training Card (Blue and Yellow Card) or willing to obtain
- General Construction Induction Card (White Card)
- Experience in Asphalt or Concreting

About this role:
- 2x permanent, full-time positions
- 35 hour week
- Access to Council's 9 day fortnight Rostered Day Off (RDO) arrangement
- Located at Council's Auburn and Guildford Depots, with frequent travel required across Council worksites, and may be required to work across any of Council’s work locations
Salary information: The salary and conditions of employment are in accordance with the NSW Local Government (State) Award.
- Grade 5 of the Cumberland Salary Structure with a salary range of $1,155.35 to $1,415.31 per week, plus 12% superannuation
- The commencing salary will be negotiated, taking into consideration the successful applicant's qualifications, skills and experience related to the role
What you'll need to have for this role:
- The right to live and work in Australia
- Be able to provide information for pre-employment checks required for the position, including attending a physical pre-employment medical examination as required
- Participate in health monitoring as outlined in the risk assessment for this position and Council’s Health Monitoring Procedure, as required
- Provide evidence of your vaccination status as part of the employment screening process, in accordance with Council’s COVID-19 Vaccination Procedure.
