Studio Smiles is seeking an enthusiastic Dental Assistant / Dental Nurse to join us in Bayside, Highett (3190).

One of our Nurses is moving to country Victoria. This means that a position has opened up for a new Dental Nurse to join our team on a Part-Time basis 3-4 days a week (Mon-Thu). Applicants seeking full time work are also needed and are encouraged to apply.

We are looking for an excellent Dental Nurse / Dental Assistant with outstanding people skills and the ability to build trust, provide reassurance, and support our patients throughout their treatment. Your role will be pivotal in assisting the dentist during procedures while ensuring patients feel comfortable, informed, and cared for as they work towards achieving a healthy and beautiful smile.

We expect this role to involve some reception work also as all of our staff are cross-trained.

The Role

Working Hours:

This role is specifically for Mon-Thu but there is some flexibility in days/hours

Generally staff work 9am-6:30pm with an early finish on Fridays. However some flexibility is possible.

Some of your duties will include:

Assisting the Dentist: Providing chairside support during dental procedures, ensuring the dentist is receiving the necessary tools and materials

Preparing Treatment Rooms: Setting up equipment and instruments before appointments and maintaining sterilised treatment rooms

Caring for Patients: Greeting and preparing patients for their treatments, offering reassurance and guidance as needed

Sterilising Instruments: Cleaning, sterilizing, and organizing dental instruments, while following infection control protocols

Keeping Records: Maintaining accurate patient records by updating treatment information, medical histories, and follow-up notes

Managing Stock: Monitoring and managing dental supplies, ensuring equipment is readily available and in good condition

Assisting with Administrative Tasks: Supporting the reception team with scheduling appointments, handling billing, and managing patient records

Providing Outstanding Customer Service: We want to ‘wow’ our patients

Being Adaptable: Being able to wear multiple hats in the practice and adapt to change quickly
